Since 2002, the Hellenic Institute of Acoustics (HELINA: member of the European Acoustics Association Ε.Α.Α), organises the Panhellenic «Acoustics» conference every two years, in cooperation with Greek universities. This year’s event, the 12th Panhellenic Conference «Acoustics 2024», will be held in October 17th-19th, 2024 co-organized by the Hellenic Mediterranean University. Co-organizers of the conference are the Municipality of Rethymnon and the Region of Crete (Regional Unit of Rethymno).

The Symposium on The Acoustics of Ancient Theatres, the second on this topic after the one held in Patras (Greece) in 2011, aims to bring together experts to present and discuss all aspects related to the acoustic properties of these monuments which are often still used for public performances including opera, drama, speech and music. This year the Symposium will be held in the city of Verona, Italy, with the famous Arena and the Roman Theatre, as well as other historic theatres and tourist attractions.

The ICA (International Commission for Acoustics) newsletter for January 2020 is published. 

The CeLyA Summer School “Hearing in noise” will take place from June 15th to 17th 2020 in Lyon France. In comparison to a conference, the talks will be longer and will introduce the basics before elaborating and finishing up with up-to-date research.

Starting from January 2020, important changes will occur in the journal of the European Acoustics Association (EAA): our journal will become a full Open Access Journal. Thus our Journal will have an increased citation and usage, a greater public engagement, faster impact, wider collaboration.

The Proceedings of the 9th National Conference ACOUSTICS 2018 have been published.

Τhe ISRA 2019 early bird registration (with the reduced fee) is possible until July 1, 2019. The registration fee also includes daily lunch & beverage and dinner on Sunday.
